Martha's Contemporary is thrilled to collaborate with Rusha & Co. for a Texan artists group exhibition. The works span several mediums including painting, sculpture, and photography by 8 artists who are from, based in, or influenced by Texas. Although Texas is the second-largest state in the country, we feel it is underrepresented in the overall art world. The state tends to get a bad rep from outsiders (for good reason), but our aim is to showcase makers who are creating art in what is sometimes both a hostile physical and political climate. The artists made works centered around what Texas means to them and their practice.
